President Akufo-Addo will from Tuesday, June 15, to Saturday, June 19, host the 59th Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government in Accra.
The five-day summit which is in three parts include the 46th Ordinary Mediation and Security Council at the Ministerial Level.
The second will focus on the 86th Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Council of Ministers and the 59th Session of the Authority of Heads of State and Governments.
Speaking to Journalists in Accra, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey said high on the agenda are political and security issues affecting the region.
Meanwhile, Mali will be absent.
Madam Ayorkor Botchway outlines the three major reports that will be adopted at the meeting. Key among them is the report on activities of ECOWAS Ministers of Trade and the adoption of a single currency for the region.
