Humanitarian Haven, a non-profit organization led by Mr. Raphael Mensah, also known as Rafarazzi, assisted the Amoanda and Budduata D/A schools by donating sanitary pads to them as a means of concern for menstrual hygiene.
This was aimed to create awareness about menstrual hygiene and provide essential sanitary pads to young girls in need.
This event which was held on April 11, 2024, saw together key stakeholders such as Nana Dankwa Kwansah Ill, Obaatanhene/Oyokohene of Gomoa Amoanda, Girl Child coordinators, Heads of both schools, and Mr. Augustine Fobi from the Ghana Health Service Health Promotion unit.
About 300 young girls had the opportunity to benefit from this initiative. This donation of sanitary pads and diapers marked a remarkable step towards addressing the challenges girls face in accessing menstrual hygiene products, especially in underserved communities.
Some beneficiaries said the donation not only provided them with essential hygiene products but also instilled a sense of dignity and empowerment.
In addition, others also emphasized how the donated sanitary pads and diapers would alleviate the burden they faced in managing their menstrual cycles.
In conclusion, the distribution of sanitary pads to the Amoanda and Budduata D/A Schools serves as a great mark of the positive impact that collective action can have on society.
