The Ghana Police Service has interdicted Police Chief Inspector Benjamine Doe Kuwornu, stationed in the Central Region, for misconduct.

This interdiction is to allow for a thorough investigation into his conduct in a video that has been sighted by the Police Administration.

In the viral video, Mr. Doe Kuwornu was seen addressing the president, His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo, and criticising what he described as the mismanagement of state resources.

“We are saying, Mr. President, you are destroying our country. As a police inspector, I want to meet you face-to-face to tell you that you are incompetent and not managing state resources in the nation’s interest.”

He also expressed concern about the alleged capture of state institutions and urged the president to listen to the voices of Ghanaians, including public servants, generals, commissioners, judges, and military officers.

But the Ghana Police Service said the conduct of Chief Inspector was unprofessional.

The law enforcement in a statement said:

“We would like to reiterate our assurance to the general public that the Police Service will continue to ensure that professionalism is maintained at all times in the discharge of our mandate.”
