The St. Joseph Hospital in Koforidua in the Eastern Region has received 1000 COVID-19 vaccines from the Ghana Health Service to administer to its workers as part of the on-going vaccination for frontline workers.
Head of Disease Control at the Hospital, Michael Asumeng, told GBC News that the initial target was nine hundred and eleven (911) doses, saying 89 doses were added for the general public.
The Director of Nursing at the Hospital, Beatrice Addai Kwaning, entreated the public to take the jabs to protect themselves and others from contracting the disease, urging Ghanaians to continue to adhere to the COVID-19 safety protocols since the vaccine does not eradicate the disease.
