The Secretary General of the Trades Union Congress (TUC), Dr Yaw Baah says the programme with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is not yielding the expected results for workers.
He thinks there is no light at the end of the tunnel for the economic hardships. This was contained in hi address to mark this year’s May Day celebration.
Regarding the challenges of the Cedi, Dr Baah said that in order to deal with the woes, there’s a need to reduce importation.
Imports require the exchange of the local currency into dollars; this strains the Cedi, hence the need to reduce imports and rather consume more locally produced foods.
