Transport Unions and Drivers have expressed worry over the frequent increases in fuel prices. The commercial drivers are threatening to increase transport fares beyond the 15% percent agreed rate if the fuel prices continue to go up.

At the negotiation table with the Government recently, transport unions proposed a 30% increase in transport fares, but the Government approved 15%. Petrol and diesel are selling between 10 Cedis and 12 Cedis per litre while LPG is trading between 9 Cedis and 11 Cedis per kilo.

On the GTV Breakfast, an Energy Expert Mr. Kwame Jantuah asked players in the petroleum sector to pay attention to the fuel pricing window in the wake of the frequent increases in fuel prices.
