Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam has maintained that the economy, as it stands now, remains robust and the prospects are high for a take-off at the end of the year.

Speaking with GBC News, Dr. Amin Adam disagreed with critics who say inflation and prices of goods remain high and so there is no way the economy has recovered.

He said the government is targeting an inflation figure of about 31 percent by the end of the year, adding that prices of goods that are still high on the market are the result of factors beyond the control of the government.

Dr. Amin Adams said the government intends to restore macro-economic stability by the end of 2023.
