You may call this new entrant a fresher, and the youngest Candidate in the NPP Presidential Primaries. Mr. Kwadwo Nsafoah Poku is promising to make youth skills development a central pillar of his administration. A cohort of the population, Mr Nsafoah Poku believes, can steer the needed change transformation the country needs. Mr. Nsafoah Poku who is an entrepreneur with 21 years of experience in the country’s energy sector says his bold step into the race should motivate the youth to step up into leadership positions in Ghana.
An Energy Expert and experienced Entrepreneur, Mr. Kwadwo Nsafoah Poku has 21 years of experience in the country’s energy sector. He has written on a lot of subjects on the country’s energy sector over the last ten years. Mr. Nsafoah Poku is currently the CEO and Founder of FKP and RALD INVESTMENT LTD. He also serves as Board Director of Multinational companies such as Pan African Capital Ghana Limited, FIFC Management and Development Limited. Kwadwo Nsafoah Poku was the Country Director for GASOP OIL from June 2002 to September 2012. As a shareholder and Ghanaian partner, he successfully negotiated with the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation for the award of Block 9, South Saltpond Basin in 2005. He later became the Managing Director of the Ghana office and
Executive Director of the Parent Company in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Mr. Kwadwo Nsafoah Poku worked as Special Assistant to the Tourism Minister, the late Hawa Yakubu from January 2001 to May 2002. He was tasked to develop a Tourism Management Information System, TMIS, one of the flagship programs for the Minister. He designed the Ministry of Tourism’s first Website in 2001, which had a database of all tourist sites in Ghana.
He was also the liaison between the Ministry and donor agencies that supported the Ministry to develop their TMIS. Mr. Kwadwo Poku has worked on various projects for years at different levels in the energy sector. He believes his experience in the energy sector will be handy as Ghana needs a leader who understands this important sector, to make decisive decisions to save the economy from collapsing. Mr. Poku says he wants to reform most sectors in the economy to bring them in line with the happenings of the 21st century and beyond. Mr. Kwadwo Nsafoah Poku, has been a card-bearing member of the NPP since 2016. He said he has contributed immensely to the running of the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency. Mr. Poku said his entry into the race should be a motivator to the youth.
He said under his watch, the country’s growing youth unemployment will be tackled.
He also wants to promote research and development in herbal medicine. Though young among the ten contestants, he is urging the NPP delegates to consider him for this high office, because he has the strategy to deliver victory for the NPP in the 2024 general election.
