The newly appointed Director of Elections and IT of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Edward Omane Boamah has pledged to secure victory for the party in the 2024 general elections.
Accepting his appointment as the party’s Director of Elections and IT ahead of the 2024 elections, Dr Omane Boamah wrote, “I am excited to work with an excellent election management and IT team. Our team has proven itself and demonstrated viability and promise in the recent NDC presidential primary and the Assin North Constituency Parliamentary by-election”.
“To our Leader and 2024 flag bearer, President John Dramani Mahama, Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, and the entire NDC leadership and supporters, I promise to work tirelessly and contribute my best to secure victory for the party and all Ghanaians in the 2024 elections”.
His appointment was announced in a press release issued by the NDC General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey on Thursday, August 24, 2023.
Dr. Omane Boamah takes over from Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, who has served in that position since 2019.
Who is Dr. Omane Boamah
Dr. Omane Boamah is a Medical Doctor, Health Policy Planning and Financing Analyst, and a former Minister for Communications and Spokesperson to President Mahama.
He served as a Vice Chairman of the United Nations Commission on Science and Technology for Development (UNCSTD) in Geneva.
The POJOBA is also an alumnus of the London School of Economics (LSE) and London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and the University of Ghana Medical School.
He was the Deputy Campaign Coordinator of the successful 2012 Presidential and Parliamentary elections and also played critical roles in NDC’s victory in the 2008 elections.
He’s loyal, intelligent and meticulous. And he’ll ”die if that is what is required to protect President Mahama and NDC’s interest”, Dr. Boamah posits.
