Media personality, Ms Gifty Anti, the host of ‘The Standpoint’ talk show, has celebrated her 15th anniversary since the onset of her program. Over the past decade and a half, “The Standpoint” has grown from a simple, shared idea and discussion into a powerful platform that has brought forth meaningful conversations, insights, and change.
It opened from day one on a mission to hear the stories of the voiceless. The Standpoint’s platform is ultimately to empower women and girls holistically. Over the years, its conversations have sparked a lot of interest, opened minds, and built bridges.
The show reaches many around the world, generating dialogue in coffee shops, chop bars, classrooms, churches, mosques, and legislative chambers, among others.
The husband of Oheneyere Gifty Anti, Nana Ansah Kwao IV, and Chief of Akwamu Adumasa, congratulated his wife for her hard work and dedication to achieving her dreams.
Contributing, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Export and Promotion Authority, Dr Afia Asabea Asare, said all must acknowledge and address barriers hindering women. She said it is important for all to create an environment where these barriers are dismantled and where women can strive to lead without limitations. She said women must support one another.
The 2011 Nobel Peace Laureate, who is also a Liberian peace activist, Mrs. Leymah Gbowee, encouraged women to step out into the world to make a difference. She urged women to step out and change the world by making it impossible for injustice to reign, adding that women should set standards for themselves so that when people look back, they will see a woman of character, not a clever devil.
Ghanaian media personality and philanthropist, Oheneyere Gifty Anti said she is determined to amplify female voices. She said there are a few exciting endeavours they have planned for “The Standpoint’s” future, adding that none of this would be possible without support.
She reiterated that as she embarks on this new phase, she invites everyone to join her in sharing ideas, to challenge our perspectives, and to stand with us as we continue to champion open dialogue, empathy, and positive change.
The Standpoint is returning to where it all started: Ghana Television. It will air on GTV on Thursdays at 8 p.m. and also on Joyprime on Sundays at 6.30 p.m. It will continue to stream on Facebook and YouTube for a wider reach.
