Jurors in Accra are set to resume work after a four-month strike over delays in the payment of their allowances. Information gathered by GBC News indicates that the jurors have been paid their ten-month allowance by the Judicial Service, paving the way for the resumption of jury trials at the High Court.

The jurors embarked on the strike last May, bringing a halt to trials by the jury, which include murder.

Some cases which suffered setbacks are the trial of the alleged killer of the former MP for Abuakwa North, Joseph Boakye Danquah Adu, and the two teenagers who allegedly killed a ten-year-old boy at Kasoa Coca Cola for alleged ritual purposes.

The High Court fixed June 24 for summation and delivery of verdict by the jury in the Kasoa ritual case but had to adjourn due to the absence of the jurors, which left the family of the deceased boy disappointed.
